Q-What is Pragati?

– Pragati is an annual technical innovation competition. This is a technical project competition for the second, third and final year students.

Q-When is Pragati?

Pragati is going to be held in the month of March 2017. The exact dates will be intimidated to all the participants and will be updated on the website as well. Please keep visiting.

Q-What are the Prizes?

The final year students will be in a different category that the second and third year students. The projects will be of two types hardware and software and hence different prizes for each type.

Q-What is the difference between a software and hardware project?

A hardware project can include a software. But a software should be purely software based. There is no restriction on price. for eg. if you connect a bluetooth module along with an android application it becomes a hardware project where as an android application is a purely software based project.

  • The type of the project will be judged by the jury and on that basis the project will be categorized as:
    • Hardware
    • Software

Parameters of judgment will be decided by the panel.

Q-How many people are allowed to participate in a group?

The group size is minimum 2 maximum 4 members. If you want a 5th member in your group, you have to give a reason explaining the need of the 5th member and his role in the making of the project. The decision to grant permission for the 5th member will be taken by the jury.

Q-What are the advantages of doing a project in Pragati?

  • Apart from this students get a chance to interact with professionals and mentors assigned to them. Due to regular screening and mentor guidance the level of the project would increase to a great extent.

Q-How are the mentors allotted?

Each team will be allotted a mentor who will guide them throughout the journey of Pragati. These mentors will be from  the faculty of INFT, EXTC and CMPN departments of our college. The mentor allotment will be done by the E-cell taking into consideration the requirement and  need of the project. Accordingly the faculty specializing in the area would be assigned.

Q-Would I get attendance for participating?

-Attendance will be granted only for the exhibition days and not for missing lectures to complete projects.  Students  can have a room to work in college after working hours till 7:00 pm. They can contact any of the organizers.
